Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver, usually caused by a virus, and is contagious. The liver becomes unable to function properly and toxins build up in the body. Symptoms include fever, nausea, headache, muscle and joint pain, dark urine, and abdominal discomfort.
There are several forms of hepatitis, depending on the virus causing it. The most common are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. There is also a form called toxic hepatitis which can be caused by exposure to chemicals like hydrocarbons and arsenic.*
