ACNE

Acne is triggered by the increased production of sebum in the sweat glands. The sebum together with dead skin cells tends to clog the pores creating an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. These bacteria together with the breakdown products of sebum irritate and inflame the pores resulting to acne.5

Further studies on acne shows that it may also be caused by digestive problem wherein the skin becomes an eliminating organ for toxins due to poor digestion or chemical exposure.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ACNE

Essense-of-Life.com encourages personal research and a balanced view of health and nutrition topics. The information links below are intended to provide a broad overview of various research findings and hypothesis on the role of nutrition in health. This information is not intended to promote any particular product.
Unless noted, the articles below may NOT include any scientific references or sources.

01.
Acne-Clearing Diet
Excellent site on controlling acne through your diet. Provides a recommended diet to follow. *Note: this site does not recommend supplements because of the filler ingredients in pills and capsules. But, ionic water-soluble supplements have no filler.

02. The Wai Diet The Wai Diet basically consists of fruits, olive oil, raw egg yolk, raw fish. The basic principle of the Wai Diet is to give the body what it needs, and to avoid that which is harmful to it. The diet will provide us with all the necessary macronutrients and micronutrients we need.

03.
Coconut Oil: Natural Acne Treatment
Coconut oil is one of the best treatments I've found for acne. No matter what skin or acne treatment you choose, whether it's chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet alone will be the best treatment you can do for your acne

04.
How Enzymes, Lecithin, and Chlorophyll Reduce Acne
Systemic enzymes, such as serapeptase can remove excess fibrin, which makes up scar tissue that forms acne pockmarks. Chlorophyll is one of the best ways to detoxify the colon fast. Your colon needs to be detoxified constantly to prevent toxins from getting into your blood and seeping into your facial skin where they can create acne.

05.
Acidophilus and Acne
Acne is triggered by the increased production of sebum in the sweat glands. The sebum together with dead skin cells tends to clog the pores creating an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. These bacteria together with the breakdown products of sebum irritate and inflame the pores resulting to acne. Further studies on acne shows that it may also be caused by digestive problem wherein the skin becomes an eliminating organ for toxins due to poor digestion or chemical exposure. Acidophilus is a type of lactic producing bacteria that is believed to have beneficial effects on digestion and may have some benefits for those with acne.

06. Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Acne
A diet high in omega-3 fatty acids may be involved in the prevention of hyperkeratinization of sebaceous follicles. Leukotriene B4, which is proinflammatory, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of acne. Omega-3 fatty acids along with a low-glycemic diet may have a synergistic effect for reducing the risk of acne.

07. Apple Cider Vinegar for Acne
Cider vinegar contains alpha-hydroxy acids. It helps eliminate fatty deposits on the skin and helps with reducing scaliness. It helps regulates the pH balance of the skin. This in turn results in softer and smoother skin.

Key words for internet research: acne and diet, acne and nutrition, acne and coconut oil, acne and enzymes, acne and chlorophyll, acne and acidophilus, acne and omega 3 fatty acids, acne and apple cider vinegar
