INDIGESTION

Heartburn (or indigestion) is a feeling of burning, warmth, heat, or pain that usually starts in the upper abdomen and spreads upward into your throat, often accompanied by a sour taste in your mouth. Heartburn occurs when food and stomach juices back up into the esophagus.6 By bolstering stomach acid production we can alleviate most heartburn and acid reflux without the use of drugs.3 Using acid reducers or blockers regularly can have a negative impact on your health as your stomach must have an acid pH of 1.5 to 2.5 to work properly.10 Part of the problem is that the foods are not being digested correctly. This can be due to an enzyme deficiency caused by an imbalance or dysfunction in the pancreas, adrenal glands or liver.9

06. Heartburn on Yahoo Health
Heartburn is a feeling of burning, warmth, heat, or pain that usually starts in the upper abdomen and spreads upward into your throat, often accompanied by a sour taste in your mouth. Heartburn occurs when food and stomach juices back up into the esophagus.

09. Quit Your Bellyaching!
Part of the problem with heartburn is that the foods are not being digested correctly. This can be due to an enzyme deficiency caused by an imbalance or dysfunction in the pancreas, adrenal glands or liver. A good digestive enzyme should include lipase to digests fats, amylase for carbohydrates, protease for proteins, cellulase for cellulose and fiber, and lactase for dairy.

10. How to be Heartburn Free
Using acid reducers or blockers regularly will have a negative impact on your health. Your stomach must have an acid pH of 1.5 to 2.5. With acid blockers, your stomach pH can rise to 3.0 and higher (this means less acidic).

11. Sodium Bicarbonate is an Antacid
Sodium bicarbonate is an antacid that neutralizes stomach acid. It is used to relieve heartburn and indigestion. It is also used to make the blood and urine less acidic in certain conditions.

12. Herbal Heartburn Treatment with Artemesia Asiatica
Researchers from Korea say experiments with rats have shown wormwood, or artemesia asiatica, has antioxidant properties and successfully treats reflux oesophagitis.

13. Heartburn Drugs Linked to Hip Fractures in Women
The longer women take proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), the greater their risk. Changing the acid environment in the stomach may reduce the absorption of calcium, which is needed for healthy bones.

Key words for internet research: heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux (GER), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn acid reflux and antacid, heartburn acid reflux and sodium bicarbonate, heartburn acid reflux and sodium, heartburn acid reflux and sulfer, heartburn acid reflux and probiotics, heartburn acid reflux and digestive enzymes, heartburn acid reflux and artemisia asiatica
